Dee Dee is married to Dr. James Ott and is the mother of 5 sons. She has 10 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.

She has a Bachelor of Science in Education from Central Missouri State University. In her early career she worked for Missouri Association for Social Welfare (MASW) at Kansas University and Kansas City, MO public schools as a Social Work Coordinator/Teacher.

Dee became a real estate agent in 1970 and has worked in Missouri, Arkansas and Indiana as a Realtor, Executive Broker and Principal Broker. She received a Lifetime Multi-Million Dollar Award and has achieved the Gold or Platinum Award in real estate every year since 2003. She is a member of the Hot Springs Board of Realtors, Arkansas Realtors Association, and National Association of Realtors.

Dee Dee is also a member of Lions International and received the Citizen of the Year Award in 2008 for community service.
